New Michigan Man!: 5 Star OT Kyle Kalis
Another great day to be a Wolverine, Michigan has picked up its 19th commitment and #6 offensive tackle in the nation, 5 Star Kyle Kalis. Not only is it great that he is a top player but its great because he BURNED O$U by de-committing from them and joining the 2012 Michigan class.
This is another Ginormous, Huge, Mega, Super, Big, (Insert another word for large here) pick up for Michigan. Not only is it amazing that he is an O$U de-commit and this is killing the Bucknut faithful, but also because this kid is an absolute stud of a prospect and a monster of a human being. As for his position, being 6'5'' 300+ pounds in high school means that he could be even bigger by the time he is in Ann Arbor. Kalis will most likely be a right tackle at the next level but I could also see him slide inside because in his tape, he has a great ability to pull and slide along the line and with the possibility of Michigan landing another top OT, they could set it up to be an All-American O-Line.
Per Scout: Kalis is a tough, strong lineman who dominates consistently. He plays the game hard and is an excellent run blocker and drive blocker. He plays with good leverage and finishes his blocks strong. He shows the ability to pull and lead, and is coordinated and athletic in the open field. He has good feet all around, which is also evident in pass pro. If there's a knock, it's that he may not be long enough for left tackle. - Trieu
As for the rest of the class: Since Kalis is a top prospect in Ohio and the nation, he will be able to talk to the top players he knows. Also this is another spot down for the class and offensive line, so who knows who he could pull in to the Michigan class, Brionte Dunn maybe?!?
Offers: Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, Cal, Cincy, Clemson, Florida, Iowa, LSU, Miami, MSU, Nebraska, O$U, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pitt, Wisconsin, Basically any school that has ever played college football.
Scout: (5 Star) Rivals: (4 Star) ESPN: (4 Star/80 overall) 247 Sports: (4 star/96 rating)

18 Down and 8 Spots Remaining
With scholarship recruit #18 committing today, the Maize and Blue are on a roll. Now that Brady Hoke has taken over it seems like, for the first time in a LONG time, that Michigan has legit shot with any and every single recruit out there. It doesnt matter if they are 5 star recruits, Hoke and Co get them on the phone and get them out to Ann Arbor, and the prospects seem to come away extremely impressed and put Michigan in their top/remaining schools.
So with all of that being said, what can we expect with the remaining 8 scholarships? Well if the past couple months are any sign, then we might be in store for one of the best recruiting classes, not only in the nation, but in Michigan football history.
My best guess (and pipe dream) take on the final 8 (In order of my best guessed commitment date):
1. 5* OT Kyle Kalis, 6'5'' 305lbs, Lakewood, OH. (St. Edwards HS)
- Rumor has is that he is already a silent commit and will be visiting this weekend or next.
2. 4* DE Chris Wormley, 6'5'' 250. Toledo, Ohio (Whitmer HS)
- Another player that may be a silent commit, but seems inevitable he commits soon.
3. 4* NT Ondre Pipkins, 6'3'' 320lbs. Kansas City, MO (Park Hill HS)
-Just like the players before, it just seems like he's a Michigan lock, would shock me if hes not blue.
4. 5* DE Aldophus Washington, 6'6'' 240. Cincinnati, OH. (Taft HS)
-Named his top 5 and O$U was not in it. Michigan may be his out right leader after his trip.
5. 4* WR Dwayne Stanford, 6'4'' 195lbs. Cincinnati, OH. (Taft HS)
-Since Washington is #4 on the list, Stanford is obviously #5, since they are a package deal.
This is where things get interesting. With only 3 spots left I have the best guess(A) and a great scenario(B):
6(A&B). 5* RB Brionte Dunn, 6'1'' 215lbs. Canton, OH. (GlenOak HS)
-This should be right before the season and O$U will be hit with a bowl ban, byebye Suckeyes, Hello Heisman.
7(A). 4* WR Jordan Payton, 6'2'' 205lbs. Westlake Village, CA (Oaks Christian HS)
-After de-committing from USC, Payton has expressed his interest in Michigan, a visit could seal it.
7(B). 5* OT Zach Banner, 6'9'' 310lbs. Lakewood, WA. (Lake HS)
-A possibility, hopefully Michigan can pull of the unthinkable and get this monster prospect.
8(A). 5* OT Jordan Diamond, 6'6'' 290lbs. Chicago, IL. (Simeon Vocational HS)
-Seems like he has been a Michigan lean forever, but bigger programs have been trying to pull him away.
8(B). 5* OG Joshua Garnett, 6'5'' 275, Puyallup, WA. (Puyallup HS)
-Best friends with Banner, and has said they wanna play together in college, hey it could happen!
It could be possible Michigan can find one more spot, especially if they want too (just tell the small slot receivers and bad RR recruits they won't play and can transfer if they want)
Possibilities for #9 commit:
Last but not least, WR Jordan Payton mentioned something about a "Fab Five" group of players signing together. Here is the quote:

"I'm going to tell you this, it's going to be interesting the next couple of weeks in recruiting…You're going to see a lot of changes. Just think Fab Five"I think he just let that one slip because he quickly tried to cover it by saying that doesn't mean its Michigan, they just said it was "like" the fab five. That could be a big time thing, and since he's an elite prospect and from the west coast I could see these 5 fabbing it up in Ann Arbor together:
1. 4* WR Jordan Payton
2. 5* OT Zach Banner
3. 5* OG Joshua Garnett
4. 5* DT Aziz Shittu
5. 4* WR Bryce Treggs
New Michigan Man!: 4 Star FS Jarrod Wilson
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Michigan has picked up one of its biggest and best recruits today, as OH FS Jarrod Wilson has chosen to be a Wolverine over ND and PSU.
A huge pick up for Michigan, especially since most of the big name teams offered including all of their rivals.Wilson said he will be enrolling early so he will have the chance to really make an impact early for the Maize and Blue. With 10+ interceptions last year and 5 of those going for touchdowns, he could be one of the top free safeties on the depth chart in 2012.
As for the rest of the class: This will be the last defensive back taken, which gives Michigan 4 DB's coming in for 2012. Also they have Jeremy Clark gray shirting so they basically got 5. Hopefully Wilson is a good recruiter like some of the other top players so he can bring in some great recruits from Ohio.
Offers: Notre Dame, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, Stanford, UCLA, WVU.
Scout: (4 Star) - Rivals: (4 Star) -ESPN: (4 Star/80 overall) - 247 Sports - (4 Star/91 overall)
Stats: 52 tackles as a junior. Had 10 interceptions and returned 5 for touchdowns. Had one fumble recovery which was returned 98 yards for a touchdown.

Future Wolverine QB: Shane Morris highlights
The 2013 south paw prospect and possible top QB was Co-MVP at the Madden 7on7 tournament a couple weekends ago, after leading the Michigan team to a championship. Here are his highlights from the tourney:
Shane Morris 7on7 highlights.
From the film and all of the analysts chatter, Shane Morris could be the next great Michigan signal caller.

Update: The Opening presented by Nike
The Opening is a training camp/competition for most of the elite high school football prospects in the entire nation. This event will be held in Oregon (the birthplace of Nike) and features the top players from the 12 National Nike high school football training camps, and will also feature other top prospects from all over the nation.
The event started today (July 5th) and goes until Friday July 8th. At the end of the camp Nike will crown winners for the Nike 7on7 tournament, Nike Linemen Challenge and SPARQ Rating National Champions.
So why is this a big deal for Michigan recruiting, lets just say a couple targets and commitments will be in attendence.........5 recruits and 11 targets, not including 3-4 players they turned away because of lack of grades or scholarships.

Commits
Michigan commit: 4* James Ross |
- 4* Terry Richardson, CB, Cass Tech HS : An elite, lock down corner who lacks size but makes up for it with amazing play making ability.
- 4* James Ross, LB, St. Mary's HS : One of the top prospects in Michigan and Linebackers in the nation. Will be a legit play maker for the Wolverine defense.
- 4* Mario Ojemudia, RDE/OLB, Harrison HS : A perfect fit for a rush linebacker in a 3-4 defense or a rush defensive end in a 4-3.
- 4* Erik Magnuson, OT, La Costa Canyon HS : The big o-lineman that Michigan is used to having. Could take some time to develop but should be a good one.
- 3* Anthony Standifer, CB, Crete Monee HS : Could really make his case for a 4th star this week.
Michigan Target: 5* Brionte Dunn, RB |
- 4* Nelson Agholor, S, Berkeley Prep HS : A play maker that plays both safety and wide receiver in high school and could play it at the next level. Not a good chance he goes Blue.
- 4* Ron Thompson, TE, Southfield HS : Has been a Michigan lean for a long time, could be apart of this class if he wants to be the third TE.
- 4* Zach Banner, OT, Lakes HS : A big big guy (6'8'' 300+ lbs), and a legit, top player in the nation. Best part is he might be a package deal with 4* OL Joshua Garnett (They kinda look like twins).
- 4* Adam Bisnowaty, OT, Fox Chapel HS : Another O-lineman that Michigan is very high on. Could be a project offensive tackle, but could really develop.
- 4* Sheldon Day, DT, Warren Central HS : Michigan has really cooled down on him, Day will be a force in college, but looks like not at Michigan at this moment.
- 5* Brionte Dunn, RB, Glen Oak HS : STILL a O$U commit, but seems to just be waiting to de-commit when he finds out how bad the sanctions will be. Could be the next great RB.
- 4* Danny O'Brien, DT, Powers Catholic HS : Has always been seen as one of the top players in Michigan, and could be a great get for the Wolverines at a much needed position.
- 5* Aziz Shittu, DT, Buhach HS : After some Michigan love on twitter, he is legitimately tied to going Blue. He decommitted from Stanford, so you know he's smart and looks for academics.
- 5* Jordan Simmons, OG, Crespi Carmelite HS : A huge man, that could be a All-American with the right coaching. Michigan would be a great place for him to develop, but very doubtful.
- 4* Dwayne Stanford, WR, Taft HS : Big, Plaxico Burress-esk WR that could be a HUGE get for Michigan, especially because of his teammate and his talent.
- 5* Aldophus Washington, DE, Taft HS : Freakish athlete that could be the top prospect in Ohio. Could be a impact player right away.
Michigan Target: 5* Aziz Shittu, DT |
Ex-Michigan Targets:
- 4* CB/S Wayne Morgan - Michigan stopped recruiting him after the CB spots were filled
- 4* CB Armani Reeves - Had Michigan and PSU in his top 2, but after the last CB spot was filled, that changed.
- 4* DE Se'Von Pittman - Now committed to MSU, but was rumored to have been turned down by Michigan because of grades.
- 4* DE Ifeadi Odenigbo - Another player who was turned down by Michigan recently because of the lack of spots at the DE position.

Quick Hits Update
Michigan Recruiting:
-5 Star recruit and #6 DT in America, Aziz Shittu, has expressed his interest in being a Michigan Wolverine and joining this amazing recruiting class that Head Coach Brady Hoke has going.
- 5/4 Star recruit, WR Jordan Payton, has de-committed from USC. This is HUGE for Michigan, because Payton has already expressed his interest in Michigan and now has them in his Final four with Oklahoma, Florida and USC. This could be even bigger because Michigan needs a WR or two in this class and Payton is one of the best in the country. Reminds me of a old school #1 receiver at Michigan, someone who can stretch the field, catch the ball, run after the catch and make big plays. Jordan Payton Highlights.

"Hope Michigan's Class don't fill up before I make a decision" - @AzizShittuThat is from his personal twitter account, and also he has been contacting Michigan commit Royce Jenkins-Stone about "The Opening" and talking about playing together. So hopefully Royce, James Ross, and T-Rich can put their recruiting hats on and pull an Elite, Top level Defensive Tackle into the Michigan class. This would be crazy though because that would make Ondre Pipkins and/or Danny O'brien pull the trigger on picking Michigan also because there is not much room for too many big men.
